Weekly meal plan 2.8.10

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Well, we are starting a new week after a busy, but fun, weekend. Saturday we worked all day to move my Memaw and Papaw into their new house. We still have a lot of work to go but we made a big dent in the stuff that needs to be moved. Jace also made chili Saturday night and entered it into a chili cook off at church on Sunday. Guess what, people? He won! I am a very proud wifey. I made root beer float cupcakes for the cook off that were really good. I’ll get the recipe for the cupcakes up this week but sorry the chili is top secret. Then, last night we had a great time at our friends Chad and Jamie’s house for the Superbowl. I really wasn’t pulling for a team this year but I am happy for the Saints.

On Tuesday we are making an Italian beef drip sandwich. I got the recipe from my favorite Pioneer Woman. I’ll put the recipe up here later this week. I’m very excited for this meal. Also, we are moving our date night to Saturday for Valentine’s Day so I was able to get another meal in there for you.

Here’s this weeks plan.

Tonight: breakfast for dinner. Pancakes, bacon and eggs
Tuesday: Italian drip beef sandwiches
Wednesday: fancy grilled cheese sandwiches…fancy because I’m making our bread from scratch
Thursday: take out before practice
Friday: five spice beef stir fry
Saturday: date night at the Garlic Press for Valentine’s Day

Weekly meal plan 2.1.10

Monday, February 1st, 2010

I can’t believe today is the first day of February. Months tend to sneak up on me more often then they used to. I have to get ready for Valentines Day and Easter will be here before we know it. I’m tired already.
This week we are trying two new recipes. I will let you know how they turn out.

Here’s this weeks plan.
Tonight: Parisian steak and cheese croissant sandwiches and baked fries.
Tuesday: lemon spaghetti with meatballs.
Wednesday: cowboy soup
Thursday: take out before praise and worship practice
Friday: date night! I’m thinking Pizzeria Venti sounds like a pretty romantic date night.

Weekly meal plan 1.25.10

Monday, January 25th, 2010

We are back from our much needed mini-vacation to Dallas. My crazy level was about to go off the charts last week waiting on it to get here. I’m not sure why but weeks always slow down when you are anticipating something fun on the weekend. I am convinced that we are doing the public a service by taking vacations. You’re welcome, friends! You don’t have to see us in that terrible state of “GET ME OUT OF MIDLAND, NOW!” syndrome. We are now over our cabin fever and ready to face the world again.

Here’s this weeks menu.
Tonight: chicken rotini with spicy cream sauce
Tomorrow: Jace is working so probably take out
Wednesday: I’m thinking mini burgers and fries but that may change
Thursday: steak au poivre with lemon rice and green beans
Friday: date night!

Weekly meal plan 1.18.10

Monday, January 18th, 2010

This week is a little strange because I am still on the Daniel fast until Wednesday evening. So the first part of the week is fast appropriate and the last part will be everything that I haven’t had in ten days.

I am so excited for Friday because Jace and I are taking a mini-vacation to Dallas. I always love our little get-a-ways. We are going to sleep in and shop. We are also going to go to the farmers market before we head back home on Sunday and get lots of very fresh fruits, veggies and meat. We started doing this last year when we went to Dallas and it is so fun to walk around outside in the cool morning air and fill our bags with goodies.

Here is this week’s meal plan.

Tonight: baked potatoes with vegetarian chili
Tuesday: white bean bisque and salad
Wednesday: end of Daniel fast feast!!!!
Thursday: Fried chicken and mashed potatoes
Friday: leaving for Dallas!

Weekly meal plan 1.4.10

Monday, January 4th, 2010

Well, the holidays are finally over and it is time to get back to our normal lives. I have to say I enjoyed the days off and all of the food but it’s nice to be back on a normal schedule. We are packing as much meat into this week because as of Sunday evening I, along with many people from my church, are going on a fast for 10 days. It’s called a Daniel Fast and it pretty much follows the guidelines of a vegan lifestyle with a couple of exceptions. So I won’t be eating meat, dairy, sugar, anything processed or made from white flour and no cokes. Some people are choosing to allow dairy into their diet but I feel like since I eat pretty healthy anyway I need more of a challenge. So all fruits, veggies and whole wheat for me. I am hoping to deepen my spiritual walk with God over those ten days, and begin my year right.

Here is my meat filled meal plan.

Monday: pork chops, mashed potatoes and corn on the cobb
Tuesday: made from scratch chicken pot pie
Wednesday: probably take out before church
Thursday: Mexican casserole (LeeAnn, I’m stealing your recipe)
Friday: date night!

Throughout the week I am going to be posting some of the Daniel Fast friendly recipes for all of you braving this with me. I think it will be a hard but great time of cleansing and deepening of our faith. I will also post some recipes from this week for all you meat eaters.

Happy eating!
